THE FULL TASMOTA and OPENHASP COLOUR DISPLAY TUTORIAL v3.4
SCENARIO 1 – One BMS – Internet Connection – 1 or More color Display MQTT
One dongle monitors one BMS, the dongle in Wi-Fi connected to the AP able to reach internet.
Via MQTT you can install as many display you needs located everywhere there is an internet Wi-Fi connection. (locations reported hereunder was randomly selected just for the sake of the explanation )

SCENARIO 2 – MULTIPLE BMS – Internet Connection – 1 or + color Display MQTT
Multiple BMS – same model or from different vendors, same or on different locations, does not care.
Each BMS access Internet via the ScanLabs Smart BMS data extractor to the SAME MQTT Broker.
You can install as many display you need located everywhere there is an internet WiFi connection.
Multiple BMS are shown on different pages on the display; you can let them scrolling automatically or select your preferred view.

SCENARIO 3 – CARAVAN – BOAT – CHALET – WITH INTERNET CONNECTIVITY
Same comments as for scenario 1

SCENARIO 4 – CARAVAN – BOAT – CHALET – WITHOUT INTERNET CONNECTIVITY
If you do not have Internet connectivity OR you don’t want to use an MQTT broker you can configure the ScanLabs BMS Smart data Exctractor as a WiFi Access Point, let 1 to 3(MAX) display connect to it using MODBUS TCP direct connection.

NOTE:
Original color DISPLAY was based on openHASP great project. openHASP is light, powerful, super easy but I found some limitations , expecially about MQTT TLS that prevents openHASP based display to work with HiveMQTT for instance. This is why I moved to TASMOTA project. The dongle will support and generate config files for both openHASP / TASMOTA .
FEATURE SET
– Open-MQTT protocol, based on Haspmota scripting language you can customize your dashboard if you don’t like mine. ( you do, don’t ask me how to do 😉 )
– Multiple battery packs supported on the same display
– Main Battery parameters shown on a single Dashboard
( hey guys I’m not a graph designer, I did my best, someone complained … this is a free project … if you can do better why don’t share with everybody ? )
– Charts will be available only on TASMOTA
( openHasp uses a version of LVGL libraries that does not support charts )
– you buy display on Aliexpress at about 10$ 😉
CURRENT LIMITATION
– openHASP : only MQTT not Secure MQTT TLS is supported (no HiveMQ for instance)
